A Two Fold Prayer For All Those Bound To Alcohol

Lord Jesus I come to You in deep need

You alone know what brought me to taste the first drink and to be caught in its arms

Father I need You desperately to free me of this bondage

I am ruining my entire life and that of the ones around me

 

Hate and anger is taking over

My hands tremble, my fists shake as often I become a demon

Lord inside me, I am still Your son, Your daughter

I detest what I do and who I have become

 

Please Lord I ask You to set me free

You alone can do it for You are Powerful, Victorious and Mighty

You will only say the Word and I can be free right now

Have mercy on me, my sins and my failings DELIVER ME O LORD

 

*Father, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit

I unite myself with the need of this child of Yours seeking freedom

I first ask for a total healing of mind, body and spirit

And to fill that bitter wound or ache within them that seeks solace in alcohol

 

Come merciful Father

Come compassionate Lord

Come Holy Spirit

 

Pour Your Spirit upon them right now and fill them to overflowing with You

Bless them with a gift of purity, wholeness and Your abundant love

May they know that they can lean on You for all that they need

May they know that they can call upon Your Name in time of distress

 

Answer them O Lord

Envelop them in Your tender arms

Breathe into them a new life

Put a song into their heart

 

Make a wonderful way ahead

A new road of holy beginnings

Bless them and those around them

May today be a new day of freedom amen
